A Sensible Starter Boat That Won’t Break Your Heart…

The Bayliner 185 is a great starter boat… small enough to launch, recover, tow and store with ease, but big enough to carry 7 people on board. This one’s fitted with a Mercruiser 3.0L 135HP sterndrive that is equally happy to potter around all day at 5 knots for a bit of sight seeing, or pull water toys and skiers at 25 knots. She is in very good condition throughout; has been pretty lightly used and well maintained.

To my mind the most important thing when buying a family starter boat is to make sure that you’re investing in a boat that is in great mechanical condition. You want something that’s reliable and that you can trust to get you and your family home safe and sound every time.
